RP One
The RP One tower is a 86-storey, high-end exclusive residential tower that is divided into serviced and branded apartments. Due to its important location in the Business Bay Area and on one of Dubai’s most popular highways, Sheikh Zayed Road, the client requested a landmark to distinguish the RP One tower from other buildings in Dubai. At 348m in height and its majestic design, the RP One will stand as one of the tallest buildings in Dubai as well as one of the most unique and distinguishable towers of the city.
The tower follows a simple plan that is recessed in order to maximize the views and the efficiency in terms of energy as well as space planning. For instance, the setting back of the building’s facade allows each apartment of the 1120 apartments in the tower to enjoy a spectacular view of the infamous Burj Khalifa, the marvellous Dubai Canal and the serene Gulf Coast.
Furthermore, three amenities floors were spread across the tower to house all the residents’ facilities. Residents’ facilities include a lounge, restaurant, pool and health club. The tower is crowned by 9 floors which house the stunning Serviced Apartments and 4 floors that include the luxurious Penthouse Apartments each of which is provided with its own panoramic view over Dubai.
Moreover, in terms of energy efficiency the RP one tower exploits the sustainable paradigm of maximizing the environmental benefits of a compact, high rise form with an efficient design that reduces the need for mechanical cooling systems and artificial lighting. Laced with elegant fins and louvers, the tower’s cutting edge architectural elements are designed to frame the apartments’ views and reduce solar gain, the building’s core mass absorbs heat and limits its reliance on mechanical ventilation. This system of fins and louvers shelters the interiors and reduces the heat transferred into the apartments which in turn reduces the energy consumption of the tower.
